Strength & Conditioning Certification

Privacy, one record and what is in it

Reading pages and answering practice questions here needs no account, sets no cookie and sends nothing to an analytics or ad service. One action creates a record on our side: following a link to one of the practice apps. Below is everything that record contains, and how to avoid creating it.

The redirect behind app links

Buttons that open a practice app go first to go.strength-conditioning-certification.com, which we operate. It reads your device type and forwards you. An iPhone or iPad goes to the App Store listing of that exam’s app. On Android only the CSCS has a Google Play app, so CSCS taps go there. Every other case, including desktop browsers, bots and Android taps for the other exams, lands on the practice test for that exam here. On the way through it stores:

  • What you clicked: source page, button, exam, operating system, destination, timestamp.
  • Device: the browser’s user-agent header.
  • Network: IP address, the network it belongs to (its autonomous system name and number) and an approximate location (city and region) that our hosting network derives from the address.
  • Link context: the referrer and the query string of the link.

The record contains no name, email address or account. It does hold your IP address and approximate location, and those are personal data. The records tell us which pages bring app installs and help us discard bot traffic. We do not sell them or hand them to ad networks.

Store links carry the site’s name

The store addresses the redirect sends you to carry the name of this site, strength-conditioning-certification.com, as a referral tag. It is identical for everyone who clicks, and it lets an app’s publisher count installs that began here; it says nothing about you.

What stays on your device

Practice answers are scored in your browser by the page’s own script and are not sent anywhere; they vanish when you close the tab. Pages, fonts and scripts all come from this domain, with nothing loaded from third parties. Like any web host, ours sees the basic details of each request (address, browser header, URL) so it can deliver the page and block abuse.

Keeping and deleting

We have not yet set a period after which tap records are deleted, and with no mailbox there is no channel for a deletion request. To leave no record at all, skip the buttons and find the app in your phone’s store by typing its name.
